Hosting requests work by sending notifications to the relevant Local Hosts who are allocated to a particular experience when a Traveller books that experience. The allocation depends on whether it is a Custom Experience or a Co-Hosted Experience.
For Custom Experiences, the hosting request is specifically sent to the owner of the experience. On the other hand, for Co-Hosted Experiences, the hosting request is sent out to all the Local Hosts who are involved in hosting the experience. This allows for a collaborative approach, where multiple hosts have the chance to accept or reject the request based on their availability and preferences.
